High chairs and hook-on/ table chairs

Hi oby,

I was just about placing an order for a high chair for my 2 months old baby.you seem to have preference for baby chairs suspended to a table.I don't feel like having both.

It's okay if you wish to have just a high chair. I prefer to buy a hook-on chair when my kids are still tender within the ages of 2months to 7months depending on my baby(being quick in seating and all). This is so because the hook-ons are more comfortable for babies to seat on especially at that young age when they are still learning to seat on their own. They feel like part of the table and the family and are able to participate during any meal(grasping, reaching for what they want, and making a mess of course!). You also can monitor your baby much easier and help with her feeding while eating yours as well. Also, with their tiny feet in the air and out of contact with the dinner table chairs, you're assured your baby won't have any support to try climbing out of his chair(never forget to strap your baby even with the hook-on chairs, they all come with straps). If using a hook-up chair, mount chair with user's manuel and make sure it's secure before putting baby on it. With the high chair, the baby has to be strapped properly in order not slip off or hit head on the service table and you might need to give her extra attention because some high chairs have feet support for the baby and this might enable them climb out and topple over if unstrapped. Hook-ons or table chairs are less expensive and take less space if your kitchen or dinner area is not so big while high chairs occupy more space and are more expensive. But if space is not an issue, and you're just interested in buying a high chair, great! Apparently, there are some high chairs that are designed for tiny babies whereby you can adjust as your baby grows, they come in very handy as well. If you don't feel like having both, it's totally okay to purchase what you want and save the stress of buying another later. Always monitor kids! It's very important.
